Dent de Broc – Delight in the prospect of cheese and chocolate

This round trip brings you up to the striking Dent de Broc, from where you have a fantastic 360° view of the Fribourg Alps, the lake and village of Gruyère and the Chocolate factory of Cailler.

  • Starting point: Broc
  • End point: Broc
  • Length: 12.3km
  • Duration: 6h
  • Ascending altitude: 1231m
  • Descending altitude: 1231m

Your hike starts in Broc. On your way up always follow the yellow signs in the direction of Dent de Broc. The path leads you mainly through the forest and ascends quite quickly. The final part up to the peak (marked with blue & white signs) is very rocky and at some sections you need to use your hands to climb up. Once at the top the view is simply stunning. To go down, take the same way back until you reach the fork with the signs to Col de Combes. Take this path down through the forest and complete your round trip by walking along the river La Sarine and back to Broc.

Hint: A bit outside of the village of Broc there is the factory of the famous Swiss Chocolate Cailler. Reload your batteries after the hike with delicious Swiss Chocolate at Maison Cailler.
