“The best view comes after the hardest climb”

Both of us were raised in Basel, one of the biggest cities in Switzerland. Nevertheless, we spent many weekends in the Swiss mountains hiking with our parents during our childhood. Then the teenage years came, where everything else became more interesting than hiking with our parents. Fortunately, we rediscovered the attractiveness and the peacefulness of hiking through the well-preserved and unique Swiss landscape. Now, we spend again quite every weekend in the Swiss mountains by trying new tracks or by climbing peaks to get impressing views. This is how our Hiking Birds Switzerland blog came into life. The purpose of this platform is to pass on our passion about going out into the nature and discovering the beauty of the Swiss landscape to others by sharing our best experiences.
By doing this, we also want to raise awareness on the fact that nature is very susceptible on human impact, therefore it is important to treat nature accordingly. We always follow the motto: “Do not take anything else with you from the hike than your impressions and do not let anything behind you than your footprints on the path”. Furthermore, we encourage you whenever possible to use the well-established public transport network to get from A to B (the majority of our hikes are reachable by public transport). Because we assume that every one of you wish that the clear mountain lakes or the impressive glaciers, which we post in our hiking reports, will still be as clear and still be as impressive also for future generations.
Enjoy your hike,
Hiking Birds Switzerland
