Col du Cou – reach the French border marked by history

On this round trip through the Pre-Alps you will reach a lone building, which played a role during the Second World War.

Start the hike at the mountain station Croix de Culet. First, the path descends slightly and you will pass by several alpine farms. After the farm la Poyat, the path will start to ascend until you reach Col de Cou. You will not only admire the views of the Swiss and French Pre-Alps but you will also discover a lone building. Alpine border guards and refugees used to live there during the Second World War. Continue the hike following the signs towards Barme. Walk along the ridge and enjoy the views before you descend throught the forest to the houses of Barme. Descend to Champéry where the hike ends.

Tipp: There is a shuttle service during the summer, you can use it from Barme to Champéry.
