Take the train from Villars village to Col de Bretaye – your starting point for this round trip. Follow the signs towards Col de Croix via Ensex. (Shorten your trip by taking the signs to Perche after passing Ensex.) A steep path from Col de Croix leads to the crest from where you will descend to Perche. Walk on the paved road until you see the signs to turn left and go down to Lac des Chavonnes. Before reaching the end of your round trip, you will pass two more lakes (Lac Noir and Lac de Bretaye).

Hint: Take a little break and enjoy a cool drink at the Restaurant Lac des Chavonnes.
