Rhine Spring – discover the origin of the Rhine river

Admire beautiful landscapes on this one-way hike and pass by several mountain lakes with absolutely clear reflections.

End point: Vermigel-Hütte

Ascending altitude: 809m
Descending altitude: 811m

Start the “Vier-Quellen Weg” hike on the Oberalppass. You will ascend until you reach the Toma lake, where the spring of the Rhine river is situated. Continue the hike through the wetlands of the Val Maighels. Then go over the Maighels pass and admire lake Portgeren on the other side of the pass. Continue the descent to the Vermigel mountain hut.

Stay in the Vermigel mountain hut (reservation needed) to continue with the hike Piz Gübin on the next day.
